Geography

Bokha Stream, South Korea

System

Stream hydraulic habitat modeling; environmental flows

## WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS

A two-dimensional hydraulic study modeled pools, riffles, runs, ruffles and rapids along approximately 2.9 km and compared habitat-diversity metrics across flow scenarios. Different indices produced different favorable discharge values.

## WHY IT MATTERS / OUR READ

Environmental-flow decisions need an explicit biological objective and field validation; optimizing one hydraulic index may not optimize another ecological response.

## CAVEATS / UNCERTAINTY

Modeled hydraulic diversity is a habitat proxy rather than observed fish recruitment or a measured ecological restoration outcome.
